Boudicca's Feast
Boudicca's Feast
Boudiccaâs Feast was a regional food and drinks festival organised by a team of 13 MBA students from the Norwich Business School as part of their MBA Management Consultancy curriculum.
The main objectives of the festival were two-fold. First and highest priority was to engage the public in learning about and visiting Dragon Hall, a local medieval trading hall in Norwich. The second objective was to leverage the historical purpose of the hall into highlighting local food and drinks businesses with a special emphasis on socially-conscious food initiatives including sustainability, local sourcing of food, organically grown foods and drinks, cultural diversity and vegetarian options.
The event was sponsored by The Green Grocers, a Norwich-based local and organic food retailer and café. Additionally, the event was made possible by the generous support of the Chalk Hill Brewery, Humpty Dumpty Brewery, Adnams, Iceni Water and Waitrose.
Boudiccas Feast was held on Sunday, 4th July, with 18 food stalls selling local food and goods, a pub set up in the medieval undercroft, educational entertainment from the Norwich Museum and Archeological Service, childrens face-painting, and a main-stage in the courtyard that highlighted six local folk bands. Even Queen Boudicca herself made an appearance. In all, there were over 400 attendees on the day, with over £1,000 raised in charity for Dragon Hall.
