Awards
In October (2011) I won as Principal Investigator together with Dr C. Wilson (Co-investigator) from Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research (www.tyndall.ac.uk/) a major research award from the UK Energy Research Council (www.ukerc.ac.uk) on Optimising Value Propositions for Energy Efficient Renovations.
The project will be the first of its kind to examine how the Green Deal incentives can be made attractive to potential customers. The scheme is intended to improve the energy efficiency of British properties by enabling consumers to make energy-savings. Customers can install energy efficient improvements to their homes with no upfront cost and pay later through instalments on their energy bill.
Biography
I joined Norwich Business School as Senior Lecturer in Marketing. Previously at the Cardiff Business School and the Agricultural University of Athens where I held a state-funded permanent position (Govt Gazette 1184/8/p.9714). My current research is on consumer led new product innovation and the use of information on new products with particular emphasis in the area of food and health. I also work on how to get organised for new product development and organisation of marketing channels.
Academic Background
I hold a BSc (Business Administration) from Piraeus University, a DESS (International Trade) from University of Paris II, a MPhil (International Marketing) from Bath University and a PhD (Management of Innovations) from Warwick University; I have also been trained on advanced research methods.
Research
My work has concentrated on:
- Marketing/ management of innovations/ new product development and launch;
- Food consumer behavior and marketing;
- Utility of information assessment, specifically new product and process information;
- Marketing research methodology, specifically modeling;
More specifically, the two areas I am most known about is rolling out new products across international markets and food consumer behaviour/marketing.
I am a member of the work group that defines the strategic research agenda for the European Technology Platform Food for Life and has been an ITC (World Trade Organisation/UNCTAD) Expert in Marketing.
