Biography
I am a Lecturer in Human Resource Management.
My doctoral research focused on workplace relationships subsequent to restructuring. In 2007 I published my findings in the highly regarded journal 'Work, Employment and Society'. My current research interest is pension trusteeship. I am exploring the meaning that individual pension trustees give to this complex and challenging role and have conducted interviews with a variety of trustees to understand how diversity on pension boards is interpreted.
In July 2008, I travelled to Canada (supported by a Canadian Government Faculty Research Scholarship) to further the research to compare the Canadian experience of pension trusteeship and diversification with the UK. This work will be published in 'Economy and Industrial Democracy Journal' shortly. Currently I am in receipt of another Canadian Faculty Scholarship 2011 to explore Pension Trusteeship, Diversity and Expertise.
I am also a member of Decere which looks at diversity in employment and careers helping to coordinate Celebrating Feminism in Academia Conference UEA 2010 with Dr Kate Sang. Another research interest is gender, industrial relations and management.
