International Consultancy Assignment

Description

Students travel to an international destination, notably Prague and meet managers of a specific organisation.  You will operate in a group of four for one week to assess a brief, analyse a situation and prepare appropriate responses. Limited briefings will take place in advance.  In conclusion you will help prepare a Powerpoint presentation and Report for local managers.

Learning objectives

On completion of this module students should be able to:

  • Apply learning, developed from a range of MBA modules
  • Exhibit clear understanding of the strategy process
  • Generate and evaluate strategic options
  • Identify and evaluate implications for strategic change
  • Provide a substantial Report for host company managers

You will also develop your cognitive and key skills namely:

  • Understand concepts associated with management consultancy
  • Demonstrate critical thinking in a foreign environment
  • Develop a process of analysis, prognosis and recommendation
  • Comprehend the strategic issues faced by international firms
  • Assemble from facts appropriate responses for clients
  • Produce a substantial Report for client / managers to digest

Learning outcomes

This module aims to develop the consultancy process among students and expose them to international dimensions of management decision-making.  It applies skills developed from the range of MBA modules, helps assess the strategic nature of the competitive international environment and enables students to prepare appropriate responses for implementation by managers in the international arena.
