Dr Ivan Diaz-Rainey, Lecturer in Environmental Finance, Norwich Business School Ivan is an expert on energy policy. He holds a PhD in Energy Policy and Innovation (UEA), an M.Sc. in Investment Analysis (Stirling) and an M.A. (Hons.) in Economics and Politics (Edinburgh). He is a member of various professional bodies including the CFA Institute and the International Association for Energy Economics. He is currently researching energy and environmental markets from a range of perspectives. This includes (1) an exploration of new financial risks in energy policy and (2) the institutional arrangements for the financial regulation of energy and environmental markets in the context of the energy sector liberalisation and evolving international co-operation on financial regulation following the credit crunch. He is also interested in the application of portfolio theory for the purposes of energy mix planning.

Mr Konstantinos Chalvatzis, Lecturer in Business and Climate Change, at Norwich Business School. He is close to finishing a PhD in Energy Security and Climate Change at the School of Environmental Sciences of UEA. He lectures on the MBA in Strategic Carbon Management. Konstantinos holds an undergraduate degree in Energy Engineering and a postgraduate qualification Environmental Policy and Management. Parallel to his research, Konstantinos has gained experience as a project manager and negotiations administrator in the energy sector in the Balkans, Eastern Europe, the Caucasuss and Northern Africa. Currently he is interested in the use of finance tools (Portfolio Theory and Volatility Measures) in addressing energy security issues.  

Dr George Daskalakis, Lecturer in Finance, Norwich Business School George is an expert in carbon and energy finance. Currently he is investigating the informational efficiency of the European carbon exchanges, the pricing of electricity forwards and futures in a regime where emissions are capped and relevant permits traded, the macroeconomic drivers of the emission allowance prices and carbon risk management. From a policy perspective, George researches the issue of how to realistically and efficiently include the international shipping sector in the European emissions trading Directive.

Andrea Finegan is a lecturer in Corporate Finance, Norwich Business School. Andrea holds an MBA in Strategic Carbon Management (UEA) with distinction and a first class BA (Hons) in Business Administration with a modern language (Loughborough).  A member of the CFA institute, Andrea joined NBS following a 20 year career in infrastructure finance covering debt and equity finance, as well as project finance advisory work for Deutsche Bank and Barclays Capital. Most recently she has worked within the investment management industry on infrastructure and renewable energy funds, where she was responsible for the asset management of portfolios of assets in excess of £8bn. Projects included onshore and offshore wind farms, waste to energy plants, transport and social infrastructure.

Mr Gbenga Ibikunle joined Norwich Business School in April, 2010 as a PhD researcher. Gbengas research focus is at present the European carbon markets; he currently works on a thesis titled: Liquidity in the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU-ETS) under the supervision of Professor Andros Gregoriou (Bournemouth University) and Professor Naresh Pandit. He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) with Distinction from the University of East Anglia.

Mr Daniel Tulloch joined the Norwich Business School in October 2010 as a PhD Researcher. Daniel works on a thesis measuring changes in the risk profile of European energy companies before and after market liberalisation, titled Essays in Evolving Risk Profile of Energy Companies in European Markets under the supervision of Dr Ivan Diaz-Rainey and Professor Naresh Pandit. Daniel holds an Masters degree in International Accounting & Financial Management (MSc) with distinction from the University of East Anglia.
