Our MBA programme has a strong focus on management consultancy skills, with the traditional MBA dissertation being replaced with two consultancy projects. Our students also have the opportunity to gain not only an MBA, but also the Diploma in Management Consultancy from the Institute of Consulting/Chartered Management Institute. Because of this, a number of our students go on to set up their own independent consulting companies (in the UK or overseas) or work as consultants in larger firms. However, most use these consultancy skills as part of general management within organisations. The skills developed (teamwork, problem solving, project management) have applicability in most business contexts.
