Strategy Implementation
Strategy Implementation
Norwich Business School (NBS) has a tradition of excellence in the field of strategy implementation. For instance, it currently directs the British Academy of Managements Performance Management Subject Interest Group (SIG) and has secured Research Council income from the ESRC. Dr Barry Witcher has researched Hoshin Kanri since the School was established in 1995. This work involves industry partnerships: the School organises a Hoshin Kanri practitioners network and attracts correspondents from all over the world. It is also recognised as world-class by firms such as Nissan and Toyota, which recommend Barry as the acknowledged international expert on Hoshin Kanri. Recently, NBS has taken the lead as the strategy and performance management partner, with five other universities in winning an ESRC-sponsored series of research seminars on different areas of performance management. Professor Roland Kayes work complements that of Barry by examining the nature of strategic intelligence, the use of executive information systems, and the implications of strategic scorecards on corporate governance. An exciting addition to this theme is Dr Fiona Lettices work on strategic knowledge and innovation management that has attracted funding from ESRC, EC, EPSRC and EEDA. She has also received support for her research from Centrica, Skandia, Grupo Antolin, Atos Origin and Vodafone on developing strategies to overcome resistance to disruptive innovation projects and on the use of graphical facilitation techniques to improve strategy communication and knowledge transfer.
