My research interests centre on marketing planning, key account management, risk and uncertainty, and competitive intelligence
I maintain links with a wide range of commercial and professional organisations throughout the world. I have undertaken projects in nineteen countries for over fifty large organisations including BP, Oxford University Press, Shell, Norwich Union and Pirelli. In addition I have worked on planning assignments for a number of smaller businesses in Norfolk.
My 2006 book on strategic marketing planning for public libraries (see below) received very positive reviews -"enthusiastically recommended library marketing guide" MidWest Review of Books (US, "It is one of the best books on marketing for librarians to be published in recent years and I recommend it" Philip Calvert, Senior Lecturer, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand (in "The Electronic Library" 25(1) 2007) and "well worth buying ....and at last a credible link with objectives and decisions" Stuart Hannabuss, Aberdeen Business School in Library Review.
